Presents For Giving Or For Yourself
Perfectly situated in the centre of the lively village of Haddenham between the historic cathedral cities of Ely and Cambridge. You will receive a friendly and warm welcome when you visit Haddenham Galleries Craft Centre. There you will find an imaginative and wonderful mix of local and regional artists incorporating ceramics, glassworks, paintings, textiles, wood and jewellery, all for sale at reasonable prices.
From the art gallery you will walk through an ancient doorway into another world full of ethnic treasures; unique, fascinating and decorative. Brought together over 40 years by owner Alastair Hull from the remote bazaars of the world.
Outside, adjacent to the Galleries is an ancient meadow with fine views across the fens. This is a place for relaxation and reflection, with a changing and unusual collection of outdoor sculptures.
The Craft Shop has a wonderful array of gorgeous greetings cards, gifts and ideas to suit any pocket or occasion – a shopping experience not to be missed … You will be amazed at how big this place is!
You can also visit the resident artists in their studios and stop off for a well-deserved fair-trade cup of tea or coffee and a slice of homemade cake in the gallery teashop.
Haddenham is a lovely village and the Haddenham Galleries cafe is the perfect place to meet and have a bite to eat and a drink with friends or family. My kids love going there - which is just as well, as my wife spends ages in the craft shop while we're working our way through the menu of the cafe!
I needed something at short notice for a birthday present for a much loved Aunt and the Haddenham Galleries came to my rescue. It was full of just the kind of arts and crafts that I needed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that others take the path less travelled and pop out to Haddenham for their gift shopping! And the cafe wasn't too bad either.
Chock full of arts and crafts and original artworks, the Haddenham Galleries always seems much more than just a craft shop - it's an aladdin's cave of beautiful gift ideas, complete with its own art gallery and cafe. In the summer you can wander around the sculpture garden and there are several working artists with their studios on the complex. They have a wide selection of tribal rugs sourced from the remote bazaars of central Asia and all manner of ethnic nic nacs and ornaments. It makes a pleasant afternoon out even if you don't end up buying something!
