Great Sunday Lunch - busy but efficient

We weren't put off by the previous reviewer's comments. I suspect it was the attitude he took when he had a problem. We found the staff and especially the manager to be friendly and efficient. Our meals were ordered and served in less than 15 minutes and choice and quality were excellent for the moderate prices charged. We really liked the way vegetables were served separately, plus they were nice and hot and not over-cooked. So, I would strongly recommend this pub for a good quality meal out. If you want fast food, go to McD's, and if you have a problem, talk politely and pleasantly to the staff and you will get what we got - excellent friendly service and a great lunch.

    Rude manager

Walked through the door with my family, friendly atmosphere, choose our meals and I went up to the bar to order and was told that someone would come to my table to take my order, 15 minutes later and no one had even approached our table, now 15 minutes may not sound long, but when 3 members of staff were chatting behind the bar, it became a little annoying, so I went and paid for our drinks and said I didn't need the table anymore as we won't be stopping to eat as no one had even taken our order, the bar staff said sorry and explained there was a list of tables and each table had to take its turn, fair enough but as there were only 2 tables on the board when I first requested service, I didn't understand how it could take so long, then when the manager heard what I was saying, she laughed at me and said that 15 minutes was not very long, especially as they were busy (chatting and 2 tables waiting to order) then told me I was being ridiculous and that if I wanted food like that then I should go to McDonald's, ever telling her how rude she was for talking to a paying customer like that, he just laughed again and said I was not being reasonable, I had not raised my voice and all I had said was I was waiting too long to order my food, with that I paid and left and could hear her talk about how stupid we where expecting service in 15 minutes. Owner of this pub please take note, all I wanted to do was place an order, we then went down the road about 15 miles to a similar place with 4 times the number of people, that seated us, took our drinks order, then returned to take our food order in no more than 10 minutes and they certainly did appreciate our custom

    Great pub

Friendly and bright staff. Dependably fresh fare. Always good, especially in the winter.

Great atmosphere - big car park!

The Three Kings is a warm, cosy retreat in the winter months with a friendly atmosphere serving up a good selection of hearty pub-grub and an excellent pint of Abbot Ale. During the summer its a different story, thats if you have kids or just fancy a beer outside. The lack of beer garden space lets it down: you'll find a small confined seating area, but there is a car park big enough to take most of the cars in Haddenham! Why dont they reclaim some of this space and build a really nice outside family area?
