Why I like Ely

30 years here, on and off, used to work down Broad Street, that building's now town houses. Ely's changed, the local people haven't. Normal, down to Earth in the main. Now resident in Littleport. Work in Mildenhall. Wife visits Older vulnerable people in their own homes (not for the Council).

Why I don't like Ely

ECDC trying to move Ely "upmarket", all they're doing is getting lots of national chain coffee shops (another on the way),which is going to impact on rents/rates/trade for local businesses. Yes, I know they bring employment, but how many of their employees are Cambridgeshire folk? And do they really improve the place? Used to be a nice place to live, not so sure now.
