The seat for South East Cambs still held by the Conservatives.

Jim Paice who has held the seat for a staggering ‘23 years’ has been re-elected and is said be overwhelmed with the result.

The Lib Dems candidate Jonathan Chatfield, was not far behind: support for the Lib Dems had grown dramatically throughout the campaign and it was clear they posed a real threat to the Conservative stronghold.

Labour candidate John Cowan was not at the count, he had been removed from his position during the run-up to the election because of allegations he had posted sexually explicit comments on the Internet.
