Whether you are a beginner or an experienced writer, this workshop will help you to develop your writing skills in a relaxed and friendly environment. We will look at a variety of techniques to enable you to create engaging and effective short stories. Writing poetry is a skill in its own right, but poetic technique can also help you to enhance your prose writing. We will look at various poetry writing techniques, in particular the use of imagery and how the Japanese haiku form can help refine your observational skills.
Participants will have the opportunity to send completed work inspired by this course to Sue for feedback.

Sue Burge is a poet and short story writer with over twenty years' experience of teaching creative writing. She has taught at the University of East Anglia and the Open University and runs a regular writing group in King’s Lynn.
