I believe most people do not obey the speed limit on Cambridge Road. I've observed the flashing 30 mph sign (as you approach St. Mary's Street) going off for every single car that passes it. In some cases, I'm certain that people are doing about 60 mph. I think this is a problem for people that live on that road in terms of safety and the fact that a huge lorry doing 55 mph on a residential road makes a lot of noise. Would anyone agree that a speed camera would get things under control? Any other suggestions?

Yes, I agree totally! Anything to slow down motorists on the streets of Ely! I've already mentioned the problem on Downham Road, at this link: http://tinyurl.com/45xm9fq

I've signed the petition. When will people realise that they really don't save a significant amount of time by speeding on central city residential roads. What procedures are in place to make the suggestion to someone that can make it happen?
