St. Bavo Cathedral Choir Haarlem (the Netherlands) – tour of Cambridgeshire, Essex and London 2013.
Starting the 24th of October 2013, St. Bavo Cathedral Choir Haarlem (the Netherlands) will begin a six day tour of Cambridgeshire, Essex and London. The girls and men of Haarlem's St. Bavo Cathedral will sing concerts, Evensongs and Eucharist.
On Friday the 25th of October, the Cathedral Choir will perform a lunchtime concert in St. John's College Chapel (Cambridge) at 1.10pm (admission free).
On Monday the 28th a lunchtime concert (1.10pm) will be performed in Ely Cathedral's Lady Chapel (admission by Cathedral ticket or pass and retiring collection).
On Saturday the 26th the Cathedral Choir will sing Evensong in Chelmsford Cathedral and on Sunday morning 27th they will sing there Eucharist.
Sunday afternoon 27th the Cathedral Choir will sing Evensong in the church of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Trafalgar Square London.
Monday 28th an Evensong will be sung in Ely Cathedral.
Before returning to the Netherlands the choir will visit St. Alban's Cathedral on the 29th of October.
The concerts and Evensongs will consist of music of all the ages, performing pieces from all over Europe. Alongside more known pieces of Monteverdi, Walton and Lauridsen, the choir will also perform pieces from Dutch composers, such as Valkestijn, Strategier and Andriessen.
