Over Christmas I happened to wake up with a jolt from a wine-induced snooze and caught Top of Tops 1964-77 (or summat like that). The Supremes were on and the voice-over man handed down the information that over the years the trio had featured 19 different vocalists.



At what point does a band become a tribute band. If you keep replacing members until none of the originals is left it can't be the real thing? It's the 'Trigger's Broom' syndrome from Only Fools and Horses. He had the same broom for 20 years. He said it had had 17 new heads and 14 new handles, but insisted it was still the same broom. I checked up on The Supremes on Wikipedia and was shocked to find that even I was one of the Supremes (from Jan 1983 – Feb 1983). Apparently I fell out with Susaye Greene.
