Great coffee, possibly the best in Ely - and unlike one of its main chain rivals around the corner, this is a great British brand! There are usually plenty of papers to read if you're killing time and they have decent cakes too, although the selection rarely changes. The manager could smile a bit more - but the quality of the coffee makes up for that!

Slow, slow, quick, quick, slow
Having any kind of refershment at Costa in Ely is something like the quickstep....there are parts that involve fast delicate and well co-ordinated movements, such as when you place your order at the counter, or ask for the details to access wi-fi. Then there are parts that are so slow and controlled that you almost lose the will to live, such as the delivery of the ordered drinks, which on this occasion took almost twenty minutes and only arrived after a stern reminder that we were still waiting. On the positive side, the pace is also slow and very relaxed in terms of how long you can linger over a coffee and there's no-one rushing you to move on so that the next customer can be seated......there's plenty and a variety of seating to suit all kinds of groups. And they were very quick to apologise for the error and delay so the judges scores are in and we recommend this place, just be prepared to be a little bit patient when they are busy!
