Don't be worried if you see scarecrows in Little Downham this month, it will soon be time for the annual Scarecrow Gathering in the village.

Little Downham gets ready for the Scarecrow Gathering
The Scarecrow Gathering is held in Little Downham each year and in the week leading up to the main event, people will be displaying their own scarecrows around the village. Some of the scarecrows are just sitting outside houses, while the more ambitious appear to be climbing out of bedroom windows.
Anyone making a scarecrow needs to ensure it arrives at the Scarecrow Gathering at Feoffees Primary School by 10am on Saturday September 22, 2012. The event finishes at 2pm, so anyone interested in taking a look has plenty of time. There are prizes for the best scarecrows and certificates for all entrants.
The Scarecrow festivities conclude this year with a Scarecrow Barn Dance, held at the Village Hall later in the evening.
