Saturday's Ely Craft Market Cancelled

Ely's Craft and Collectables Market has been cancelled this Saturday as forecasts for snow, ice and strong winds will make holding a market dangerous.

The decision was reluctantly taken by East Cambridgeshire District Council this afternoon in consultation with market representatives.

Spokesperson Tracey Harding said: "Everyone is very disappointed that the market has been cancelled this weekend but sometimes safety becomes paramount.

"The forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning is poor – this makes it extremely dangerous to set up the market. We apologise to all those who will be disappointed but the market will be back up and running from next week."
