Ely Runner wins Grunty Fen Half Marathon

Daisy Glover of Ely Runners won the Grunty Fen Half Marathon women's race today (Sunday September 9, 2012). The Littleport athlete led the women's race to the line, following up her third place in the Cambridge Half Marathon earlier in the year.

Grunty Fen Half Marathon 2012: Aaron Scott, winner of the overall race
It was success at the first attempt for 21-year-old Daisy Glover, who has not previously entered this testing local race.
Stamford athlete Aaron Scott won the overall race for the second consecutive year. The 25-year-old Notts Athletic Club runner led a field of 800 in the gruelling heat to finish first.
The Grunty Fen Half Marathon has been an annual fixture in the local athletics calendar since 1991. Starting and finishing from Witchford Village College, the course takes the runners through the village and out into the fens in two loops.
